Magnetometer X is designed as a privacy-first utility.
- We do not track your browsing history.
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
- We do not upload your measurement data to any external servers.
- All sensor processing happens locally on your iPhone.
2. Information We Collect
A. Sensor Data (Magnetometer)
The App accesses your device's magnetometer (compass) to measure magnetic field strength. This raw data is processed in real-time on your device to display gauges, graphs, and vectors. This data is not transmitted to us.
B. Location Data (GPS)
If you enable "Include GPS Data in Logs" in the Settings, the App will access your precise location.
- Purpose: To attach coordinates to your "Scientific Mode" CSV recordings, allowing you to map your magnetic field surveys.
- Storage: Location data is saved only into the CSV files stored locally on your device.
- Control: You can grant or revoke location access at any time via your iOS Settings.
C. User-Generated Files
When you create a recording or log, the App generates a CSV file. These files are stored in your device's local storage or your iCloud Drive (if enabled by you). We do not have access to these files unless you explicitly share them with us (e.g., via email for support).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the data solely to provide the App's functionality:
- To visualize magnetic fields in Standard, Wall Scanner, and Scientific modes.
- To generate downloadable logs for your personal or professional use.
4. Third-Party Services
Magnetometer X does not use third-party analytics services (like Google Analytics or Firebase) or advertising networks. We do not share your data with external companies.
5. Data Retention
Since we do not transmit your data to our servers, we do not hold your data. Your logs and recordings remain on your device until you choose to delete them or delete the App.
